St. Nicholas delivered baskets of goodies to poor children, giving as Christ would give.
The idea of giving, started with St. Nicholas about 350 A.D.
many years after the Birth of the Savior.
St. Nick had no intentions of starting a holiday.
He had a desire to spread cheer in the lives of the poor.
Some how the focus of St. Nicholas was lost by others.
Many poor children today see very little under the tree.
Some don't know who Santa is, but worse yet, they never heard of Jesus.
People, today, do many things this time of the month to prepare for December 25.
They buy gifts for family, friends, co-workers, bosses, mail delivery person, paper delivery, and even for their pets.
Their houses are decorated with bright lights. They might go to church as a once a year family tradition.
Do they remember the poor in spirit? But most important do they know who Jesus is?
JESUS left a glorious HEAVEN to come to the 'stable' of earth to transform my life and yours.
He came by manger to go to the cross to take the punishment for our sins. He came back to life through
God's power and lives to bring power into our souls to live for Him.
Instead of going shopping in celebration of His birth, we'll give Him our lonely sinful hearts, and ask Him to fill it with His Love, Joy and Peace.
God's Love is always available for those who come to Him. He is waiting to give you His peace for your soul.
"But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid; for I bring you good news of great joy which will come to all the people.
For to you is born this day in the town of David, a Savior, Who is Christ (Messiah) the Lord!'" Luke 2:9-11 Amp. Bible
