"Treating Older People the Way We Want to be Treated When We are Old"

Statement of Faith

1. The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God, and of supreme and final authority in faith and life. (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)

2. There is one living and true God; an infinite, intelligent Spirit, perfect in all His attributes, one in essence but eternally subsistent in three offices: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Luke 3:22; Matt. 28:19, 2 Cor. 13:14)

3. Man is fallen and sinful (Gen. 3:1-24; Rom. 5:12); although originally created in the image of God, through disobedience of Adam, man fell into a sinful and spiritually impotent state, totally unable to justify himself before God. (John 3:3-5)

4. Jesus Christ is the express image of the invisible God, which is to say He is God (John 1:1-3); that He became man, yet without sin (Heb. 4:15), being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary (John 1:14; Matt. 1:18-23); He died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for sin; He arose from the dead in the body in which He was crucified (Luke 24: 36-43); He ascended into heaven in that body glorified, where He is now, our interceding High Priest (Heb. 4:14-16); and He will return again personally, visibly, and gloriously (Acts 1:11).

5. Salvation is wholly of God, by grace through faith in Christ alone. God gave His only Son to die on the cross for our sin, thus obtaining our redemption for those that come to Him; this salvation is not in any way merited by man; God commands men everywhere to repent of sin and believe in Christ; and this salvation is eternal in its duration and results in good works (Ephes. 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-7; I Peter 1:18-19).
