Lois "Lowie"
Hello, my name is Lois Wiederhoeft. A few friends call me Lowie. I am in my mid 60's, living in retirement and watching God fill in my schedule.
I am married almost 45 years to James H. Wiederhoeft, as of Dec. 22, 2007. Jim retired on Nov. 30, 2001. We moved North to Peshtigo, WI. that same month.
God has blessed me in many unusual ways. He is helping me make major changes, as I gradually age. I am learning to find God's purpose in transition.
We have two sons, and each have two children. We have 3 grandsons, and one grand daughter.
I took my first steps in following Jesus when I was going to a Lutheran school. Mom allowed me to visit Friday night Bible teaching Children's Meetings in a different church, There I heard the Gospel, and learned new songs. But, I still thought my life had to be perfect, for Jesus to accept me. No matter how I tried, I could not be perfect on my own. I wasn't sure He loved me. In April of 1973, I attended a movie, 'THE THIEF IN THE NIGHT' about the rapture. I knew I was not ready for Heaven. The song, 'JUST AS I AM' finally made sense to me. I could come to Him 'just as I was' and He would change me. He loved me enough in my sin and willing to wash me clean for His Glory and to take charge of my life.
I also listened to Back to the Bible radio broadcasts, like Mom did when I was a child. The verses they repeatedly quoted from Romans 10, with help from the Holy Spirit, also registered in my heart.
"That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scriptures says, "Who ever believes on Him will not be put to shame." Romans 10:9-11 NKJV
I was 32 years old before I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. I realized Jesus hated my sins, but loved me as a person, enough to take my sins to the cross as my substitute sacrificial Lamb and will be coming back as King of kings.
I started Care Center ministry in 1997, in Neenah, WI at Vallhaven Care Center. I ministered there for almost five years, every Sunday morning, with a team of helpers. I was a member of the Church of God (Cleveland, TN) in Oshkosh, WI.
Care Center Ministry is still a big part of my life. I transferred my membership to the Church of God in Menominee, MI. I inherited my pastor's once a month ministry at Whispering Oaks Care Center in Peshtigo, Wisconsin, in May of 2002. In March of 2003, I began ministering the second and third Sunday afternoons of every month. A change of pace took place January 25, 2004. I began sharing the Gospel of Jesus Love for them, every Sunday morning.
In February, 2005, I went back to every other Sunday morning, since I was also needed at my church, after another change of pastors.
I use the sing-a-long CD's from SonShine Society in Lynnwood, Washington.
The the Golden Rule for my future is "Treating Older People the Way I Want to be Treated When I Am Old".
May you find encouragement in these pages.
God bless you.
