CARE CENTER CORNER
Treating Older People the Way We Want to be Treated When We are Old

REAL LIFE in the MINISTRY

Sunday afternoon (December 15, 2003), my hubby and I went to a birthday party at the care center, for a man who belongs to the same church I go to. I told Jim about the party invitation from Joe's wife, Elaine, aka sister Lee and he decided to go with me. He likes Joe and Joe was tickled pink to see Jim. After the party Sister Lee was taken to ICU at the hospital by one of her daughters, because she was not breathing well, even with her oxygen machine.

To make a long story short, she came down with pneumonia and left us to be with Jesus this afternoon (December 17) at 2 p.m. Joe and his daughters were there. This was totally unexpected at this time of the year. Joe loved his 'gorgeous' wife. Joe is 85 years old and I think Sister Lee is 86.

She was due for knee surgery in January.

Sister Lee is now dancing, with out surgery, on streets of transparent Gold.

SPRINGTIME IN GOD'S LOVE,

Springtime in God's Love,
Clothed with beauty from above.
Beauty budding everywhere,
Only God could put it there.

Fashioned in color so sublime,
A picture of Heaven in our mind.
Walk in the garden He has made for you.
Bask in His love, He has given you.

Smell the fragrance of His presence.
Gather the promises of forgiveness.
Showers of blessings rain down upon us,
refreshing our souls in His trust.

Jesus is that garden of beauty.
Pluck the lily of Salvation.
Place it in your heart forever,
A bouquet that shall not wither.

Remember, it's Springtime in God's love.

Lois read this poem at the 'Home coming' service
on December 21, 2002 by request of Sister Lee's family,
and received permission by her daughter, Dianne
to place it on Care Center Corner.

Thank you Lord for sparing Sister Lee much suffering.

She went home to Jesus two days after going into
ICU with pneumonia

BROTHER JOE WENT HOME TOO

Brother Joe had a heart attack at church, the day of his gorgeous wife's send off to Jesus.
His health degenerated quickly and four months later was ready to join Sister Lee.
April 30, 2003 his family and many friends shared in his graduation ceremony.

Our church feels a big hole with them gone.
But we know they are having a wonderful up there.
One of Brother Joe's favorite songs was, "Oh I Want to See Him, Look upon His face".
His desire was answered.
