Cursillo (pronounced kur-see-oh) is one among the many renewal ministries within the Anglican Church. The word means literally “a short course in Christian living”. The Cursillo weekend experience explores the fundamental aspects of a life lived in close contact with Christ. It offers a way to deepen knowledge and partake of the love of God in a personal, lively and informative event. It is a weekend in which we examine what it means to be a Christian in today’s world. All aspects of life are considered: our churches, workplaces, communities, even our families and ourselves. The Weekend is a time when we can be strengthened in our spiritual journey to follow Jesus more faithfully and effectively.
“For everyone who asks, receives and whoever seeks will find”. Matt. 7:8
This part of Cursillo revolves around a series of talks given by a team of laypersons and clergy. These are combined with small group discussions where opinions and ideas are shared. There are also times for worship, fellowship, personal reflection, play, prayer, and much singing. A Cursillo weekend is however, much more than just another course; it is an invitation to Christian growth through encounter with the living Christ in the context of a supportive, prayerful community.
The Cursillo weekend begins on Thursday evening and ends late Sunday afternoon. It is a live-in weekend and candidates are expected to attend the entire event. If you are interested in attending Cursillo, it is recommended that you discuss the possibility with your parish priest or someone who is active in the Cursillo community.
The Cursillo experience is open to any baptized adult Christian who desires to learn and grow in his/her faith. Men’s and women’s weekends are held separately.

You will need two people to sponsor you – your pastor or your priest, and a person who has already attended a Cursillo weekend. The sponsor prays for you before, during and after your weekend, and supports you as you continue on your Cursillo journey. Sponsor and registration forms are available at the church.
The Cursillo community provides
different opportunities after the weekend to encourage and support you
in your continuing growth in Christ.
